Atoll Adventures Pvt Ltd (Maldives) is a registered tour operator and the first specialist surfing operator in the Maldives.
Atoll Adventures was established in 1989 by the late Tony Hussein Hinde, the pioneer of Maldives surfing. His goal was to lead the responsible development of commercial surf travel in the country and provide the best possible surfing trips for his clients.
Atoll Adventures is the most established operator of surfing trips in the Maldives. Tours are planned and operated to the highest standards, with an in-depth understanding of the needs of international travelling surfers.
Atoll Adventures staff, based at the Cinnamon Dhonveli resort, are committed to our guests getting the most surfing value from their holiday. Our Operations Manager continuously monitors surf conditions and makes sure that boats are always available to take surfers to the breaks that are working best at the time. Our boats are equipped with modern radios and communicate with each other and the island, for the latest information on surf conditions and surfer numbers, and as a safety precaution.
Atoll Adventures surf guides are bilingual Maldivian ISA accredited surfers who know the waves and the local conditions. They are also great company and a fascinating source of information about the Maldives and its people.
Atoll Adventures Operations Manager and the most experienced surf guide in the Maldives; Dara’s unrivaled knowledge of the regions surfing conditions has been getting Atoll Adventures guests into the best waves for 28+ years. When not in the water, he’s photographing all the action for the surfers.

Dara is an Accredited ISA Surf Coach / Level 2 instructor and is the ISA’s Official Course Organiser & Presenter in the Maldives.
Anni started with Atoll Adventures at the start of the 2021 season. Having taken up surfing as his favourite hobby when he was 12 years old, he has honed his skills while working as a water sports instructor at various resorts over the past six years. Anni loves his work at the Cinnamon Dhonveli Surf Base especially meeting and assisting the variety of surfing guests on the Atoll Adventures surf tour.
Atoll Adventures’ latest recruit for 2022 is Niboo; Growing up on the nearby island of Huraa, Niboo started surfing at 13 and now at 25 is a very accomplished surfer. He’s also very experienced in the tourism sector having worked as a Surf Instructor and water sports coordinator for four years at Club Med Kani and also a stint at the luxury Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi as Surf Instructor.
Joining the Atoll Adventures team in 2023 is Anoof. Growing up he was always eager to explore new things and wanted to be in the ocean having fun in the sun while diving and snorkelling with his friends. He didn’t start surfing until he was 17 years old but that was when Anoof really fell in love with the ocean and waves. Since then Anoof has worked as a water sports instructor at resorts and on local islands. In 2021 he completed the National Certificate III in Surf Guiding and began working as a freelance surf guide at a local island. Now he is extra stoked to be a part of the renowned Atoll Adventures team at the Pasta Point Surf Base.
Ahmed has been with Atoll Adventures since back in the early 1990s. A Himmafushi local Ahmed was close friends with the late Tony Hussein Hinde since his arrival to that island in 1974. He manages the boat crews, all Himmafushi locals, and understands exactly what visiting surfers need for safe and reliable access to all the local surf breaks.
